I found an interesting book when writing that paper I mentioned that focused on The Sacred Marriage in the myth of Inanna and Dumizi (aka Ishtar and Tammuz) and even included a chapter on how the myth may have influenced the more obscure and out-of-place elements in The Song of Solomon...hmmm...may have to go back and find that one again...

Yep; if you do reading on the interactions of Inanna and Dumizi, some of the things they say to each other are eerily reminiscent of the passages in the Song of Songs or the Canticle of Canticles (aka The Song of Solomon). It's a very romantic work, actually.

Oooooh, what an interesting prologue. I loved reading Karasuma's, Michael's, and Sakaki's reactions to Amon's Awakening, etc.

And that ending leaves one wondering ;D

Hi, I'm pretty late to the WHR fandom, but The Burning Time was amongst the first fics I found, and absolutely adored it. It honestly stands as the best fic I've ever read over any fandom and is such a great read, I don't even think of it as 'fan fiction' really. Anywho, I'm really looking forward to catching the sequel from the beginning. ^-^
